Happy Holidays 2024

Happy Holidays!

As we wrap up another year, we reflect on the many beautiful events and growth we've experienced as a family.

Julan has grown so much this year and is now a young man starting high school. He embraced teh challenge of water polo this fall, completing his first season as a Washington Husky. In the spring, he'll join the swim team, continuing his journey as a dedicated "fish". He also swims every summer with his recreation team, cherishing the sense of community that brings. Academically we're proud of his hard work as he takes on rigorous subjects like Biology and Chinese. He's building strong study habits and tackling challenges head-on.

Jude recently completed a commission and continues to refine his artistic craft. When he's not painting, he treating us to delicious meals and keeping up with Filipino and American news. We also enjoy catching Warriors games together whenever we can.

I stay busy working as an administrator in public education. Life in elementary schools keeps me on my toes, with a closet full of wigs and costumes to navigate spirit days, fundraisers, and holiday events. Teacher are working incredibly hard, and I am passionate about supporting them.

This year we made time for travel and unforgettable experiences. In April, we ventured to Rochester, New York, to witness the solar eclipse, which coincided with my birthday. Although cloudy weather prevented a clear view, the eerie mid-afternoon darkness was a sight to behold. Spending that time with Mommy Silva and family was truly priceless as well.

In July, we explored the high desert of Arizona, staying in geodesic domes that offered stunning views of the Milky Way. We were also humbled by the majesty of the Grand Canyon, where we experienced an extraordinary first light and sunrise. Sharing these moments with Ana and Brandon made the trip even more meaningful.

Jude was able to visit Rochester again for a family reunion to celebrate Mommy's 94th birthday. Seven of the nine siblings could come together to ring in another year for her.

Most of our summer was spent on a house project to clean up structural issues and make our utility room functional.

As we close out the year, we feel blessed with good health, adventure, and the love of friends and family. We cherish every visit and connection and hope to travel even more in 2025.

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and joyous New Year!
